Dear music lovers, we have something wonderful for you this spring – a miniseason of opera in the beautiful coastal village of Mendocino.
Mendocino Chamber Opera presents the comic opera masterpiece "The Secret Marriage" by Domenico Cimarosa (1749-1801), a contemporary of Mozart. The opera is fully staged with a period set and costumes, sung in a hilarious English version by Donald Pippin.
The story follows a rich merchant's attempt to gain a title for his eldest daughter by wedding her to a count, but the count prefers the youngest daughter, who has been hiding the fact that she's already married
Directed by Richard Goodman, with a cast of experienced local singers: Sara Wagner, Elaine Miksak, Jenny Windsor, Dan Fowler, Richard Goodman, and Jary Stavely joined by San Francisco tenor Pedro Rodelas. Jack Leung performs the musical accompaniment on a Steinway grand piano.

How to Purchase Tickets
Tickets are available from the MTC box office – in person, by phone at 707/937-4477, or online at www.tix.com. The cost is $22 for general admission and $11 for children. Also, a group rate is available at $15 per ticket when purchased as a single group of at least 10 tickets.

The mission of Mendocino Chamber Opera is to stage lesser-known comic operas and music dramas of modest proportions. We prefer to use local singers, musicians, and artists and, to better reach our audiences, we sing in English and keep ticket prices low.
